Degree program: MSc Logistics & SCM

In this module, the students will be exposed to the important area of humanitarian logistics. Humanitarian organizations and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) typically operate in harsh environments with limited resources. Their supply chains must be ready for deployment within 72 hours after disaster strikes, and they are also used to operate longer-term development programs. The private sector can benefit a lot from the experience of these organizations. After completing this module successfully, students will break out of the standard business environment box and enter the world of humanitarian supply chains, where there are more stakeholders, incentive misalignment, limited resources, complexity, and risk. We will analyze case studies to deepen the students’ knowledge of logistics, strategy, and decision-making in humanitarian organizations.
